The app's own configuration cannot ask, so this registers the subscriptions that can. Shopify sends every change as it happens, so it stays current on its own. Buddy's refusal tests are measured against one model at a time, and their result does not carry to another. It has 7 tools, set in code rather than here.
Search the catalogue
Searches your products, their published specifications, your FAQ answers and your documents together, by name or catalogue number and through a misspelling, so Buddy quotes a real answer and names a real kit rather than one it remembers.
Look up a customer's own orders
Reads the recent orders of a shopper who is signed in to their Zymo Research account on the website, so Buddy can answer "where is my order" without anyone proving who they are by quoting an order number. It reads no name, email address or delivery address.
Share contact details
Reads this store's support email, phone, opening hours and contact page from Shopify, so Buddy states them rather than inventing them.
Offer to add products to the cart
Offers the customer a card with an Add to cart button for the kits they asked about, filling the same cart the header and the cart drawer show. Buddy can only add: it never lowers a quantity, removes a line or swaps one product for another, and nothing reaches the cart until the customer presses the button.
Note an unanswered question
Writes down a question about your products that Buddy could not answer from anything it holds, so the team can see which answers are worth publishing. Read them on the Knowledge gaps page.
Open the guided workflow selector
Puts your scientific workflow selector on screen, so a customer who describes their experiment rather than naming a kit can pick their sample, what they are extracting and what they will do with it. It offers only the combinations you have filled in, and starts with whatever the customer has already said filled in for them.
File support requests
Files a request with your support team, once a customer has given their name and email and agreed to it being sent.
Everything else the framework offers Buddy is switched off, including a shell, file access, web search and web fetch. Those are refused for grounding and safety reasons rather than as a preference, so they are not a setting either.
